Americans are preoccupied today with the epidemic of mass shootings in recent years. It overshadows the devastation of natural disasters, the opioid epidemic, homelessness, immigration, the threats of terrorism and nuclear weapons, cyber attacks, and many other concerns.
…And the Reverend Billy Graham died yesterday.

Because of the Second Amendment to our Constitution, are we a Culture of Guns? Because of our lack of focus on mental and emotional illness, are we a Culture of Insanity? Because many folks sitting across a table from each other today prefer the tools of digital tech and social media to communicate rather than looking each other in the eye, are we a Culture of Social Disconnect?
…And Rev. Billy Graham died yesterday.

Yesterday students, parents, teachers and administrators – all touched by school violence – sat with President Trump for a roundtable discussion. Strong emotions of sorrow, fear and anger were expressed, and suggestions for both offensive and defensive tactics were made. But there was one voice missing in the room…

Many students from Broward County arrived by bus in Tallahassee yesterday to demand Florida legislators take definitive action. Among the slogans frequently heard, “The National Rifle Association is killing us!”, and, “Stop taking money from the NRA and do something to make us safe!” One voice was missing at the rally…

After every tragedy in the past year, both natural and human inflicted, politicians and pundits said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with you.” Many folks wonder, “Are your thoughts and prayers with us when all is well?”

The Fox News Channel says daily that America’s mainstream news outlets are the Hate Trump Media. FNC is living in a glass house, for they lead another group of outlets one may label the Hate Clinton/Obama Media.

So, the American Left wants to see Trump and all associated with him in shackles and orange jumpsuits, and the Right wants to see Clinton, Obama and all associated with them cuffed and doing the perp walk.

Now, it’s time for an honest self-assessment…

In the 2016 Presidential Election: Did you vote for Clinton because you loved her, or because you hated Trump? Did you vote for Trump because you loved him, or because you hated Clinton? Did you vote for a Third Party because you loved that candidate, or because you hated both Trump and Clinton? Or did you stay home and not vote at all because you hated everyone?

So, perhaps, influenced by Russian propaganda, Radical Islamists and its own team politics, America has developed a Culture of… … … … What?

Listen up! Donald, Mike, Chuck, Nancy, Paul, Mitch and all the heads of media outlets: Y’all desperately need a visit to the woodshed with the man who died yesterday.

The Reverend Billy Graham had a very simple message. He spoke it to hundreds of thousands many times during six decades,

“If you remember only one thing I said to you today, please remember this:

“God LOVES You!”
