“You can’t always get what You want”

You don’t always get what You need either, but You
ALWAYS get what You EXPECT.

Expectations and Beliefs…

They are hard-wired into Your Human Operating System –
or SUBCONSCIOUS MIND. I mean they are Neural Pathways –
dense bundles of neurons, brain cells. More on this in
Chapter 13: The Brain.

Some Expectation and Belief sets have been in place for
enough generations so they are programmed into human
DNA. Others are planted by repeated suggestion.

Example – Two fifteen-year-old boys: One went to Sunday
school and church every week since age three, the other
never has. One day after biology class, a teacher tells
the two there was once carpenter in Nazareth born of a
virgin. The one who recited the Apostles or Nicene
Creed every week for twelve years accepts it as fact,
while the other cannot wrap his head around it.

With Your puny Conscious Mind You may say You want
this, this, and that – but You stand no chance of
receiving things that do not fit into Your Beliefs and
Expectations.

Your Conscious Mind is easily entertained, but Your
Subconscious does all the heavy lifting. It’s Habits
determine how You react to events, what You hear when
You listen, whether or not You recognize opportunities,
etc.

All events are neutral, neither good nor bad. Example:
The Yankees Win the Word Series – good news for some,
bad news for others, non-news for most who view
baseball as a pointless game.

Your Subconscious interacts with the Universe all the
time, even while You sleep. HOW it acts is determined
by Your Emotional Fuel – how You think and feel most of
the time.

The Law of Attraction, again…

You attract Positive vibrations (what You PERCEIVE as
Positive) when You vibrate Positive Thoughts and
Feelings most of the time. The opposite is also true.

Occasional brief flashes of Anger or Fear are probably
okay, as long as Your DOMINANT THOUGHTS and FEELINGS
are based in The 8 Positive Emotions.

The Law of Attraction

Inspired by Chapter 11 of Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

In “The Strangest Secret”, Earl Nightingale said, “You
become what You think about most of the time.”

If that were true, then, when I was a teenager, I would
have become a slender girl with long, shapely legs,
long, silky brown hair, and sparkling green eyes.
I think Earl meant to say, “You get what You think
about most of the time.”

Indeed, THAT is true. The young lady I took to my
senior prom fit the above description.

However, THINKING is not enough. There are two other
critical elements.

Most people believe The Law of Attraction does not work
– but it HAS to. It’s a LAW!

You need not believe in the Law of Gravity either, but
it works every time. The Law of Lift is senior to
Gravity – but, when You exhaust Your fuel, Gravity is
waiting to embrace You with open arms.

The Two Critical Elements

FEELING and BELIEVING.

EMOTIONS power THOUGHTS. However You FEEL – the Law of
Attraction works to reinforce that Feeling. So, those
who live in “a crappy town” attract things, people,
events, and reactions to those which reinforce “crappy
town” every time.

BELIEF is critical for Achievement. Without it, The Law
of Attraction delivers the product of disbelief. Belief
is covered thoroughly in other chapters.

The Most Powerful Feeling a human being can experience
is the combination of SEX, LOVE and ROMANCE.

My most perfect moment happened when I was age sixteen.
It was the most intense combination of those three I
ever felt in one moment. I strive each day to recapture
that moment in my mind and heart.

I ATTRACT stuff that reinforces the FEELING of my
perfect moment.

Most folks have too many goals: They want wealth, good
health, quality relationships, nicer house, better car,
boat, etc. More stuff than they can possibly BELIEVE
in.

Far simpler would be a goal to FEEL GOOD RIGHT NOW.
Guess what would be attracted to reinforce the Feeling?

It Takes A Team

It Takes A Team

When geese fly in a V formation, the lead goose flying
point has tough job. He has no lift from the other
geese, so he must struggle to create all his own lift.

The geese at the rear of the formation have the benefit
of lift from all the others before them. If the same
goose always flew point, then the flock would not
travel very far with each flight. They would be limited
by the leader’s stamina.

Yet the flock will fly many miles nonstop because when
the point goose tires, he falls back to the rear and
another goose takes over point. The entire flock
rotates thus, sharing the burden and giving the other
geese a break to recharge.

The geese constantly honk while in formation. I don’t
know if this is for navigation, observation,
encouragement, or just idle chatter to pass the time –
but I’ve never heard a flock argue while airborne.

Their honking is not in perfect unison, but it
HARMONIC. There is no dissonance.

Dissonance is like vibrating C, C#, D, and D# together
– annoying, but vibrating C, E, G, and A is HARMONIC
and rather soothing.

The Law of ATTRACTION is all about VIBRATION. Whatever
DOMINANT THOUGHTS and FEELINGS I transmit, other
vibrations come back to REINFORCE the Dominant Feeling.
The vibrations may not be in perfect unison, but they
are similar enough to be Harmonic.

Decision Without PERSISTENCE Is No Decision.

How many times in my life have I been caught up in the
hype of the moment? The crash of the cymbals, the
momentary triumph, the roar of the crowd at convention?

It is easy to make vows at moments of emotional height,
to feel invincible, like I can accomplish anything.

But what happens when the hype wears off? Same old,
same old?

This chapter addresses the overlooked element in any
success formula – be it Hill’s Hidden Secret, The Law
of Attraction, The Strangest Secret, The Greatest
Secret, or The MFF Recipe – the CONSISTENT Daily Effort
applied to each step – The Slight Edge Curve.

“Success is the PROGRESSIVE Realization of a Worthwhile
Goal or Dream.” Not the big, noisy triumphs everyone
notices, but the daily focus and toil.

“Failure” is a habit of flawed thinking, as is
emotional disappointment with a “No”. When questioned
about his 10,000 “failed” experiments to make a
marketable incandescent light, Edison replied, “I
SUCCESSFULLY discovered 10,000 ways that do not work.”

How excited with anticipation Edison must have felt
after 9,900 experiments, KNOWING he was getting really
close to a commercially viable outcome!

NO ACTION? NO DECISION.

Inspired by Chapter 8 of Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

Sitting at my desk, I decide to pick up my pen. If my
pen is not immediately in my hand, then I did not truly
DECIDE to pick it up. I have unconscious competence in
the task of picking up pens – I don’t have to THINK
about how to affect it.

PROCRASTINATION.

Why is it so hard to DECIDE to call my own clients?
It’s so much easier when my Coach calls them with me
(translate – FOR me). I keep asking for “the script”.
My Coach tells me there is no script.

So, how did HE become so good at calling clients with
no script? Maybe, at first, all he could do was pick up
the phone and say, “Hi!”

After he practiced that for awhile, maybe he progressed
to, “Hi, my name is…”, and built from there.

ACTION WITHOUT THOUGHT IS DANGEROUS.

There’s flip-side to being DECISIVE – making hasty
decisions without sufficient knowledge can, and usually
does, end in disaster. I hope one would be rationally
aware of the law of gravity and the law of lift before
deciding to step off the roof of a tall building.

I’ve had new partners join my MLM business in a fast
pace fashion, with only days elapsing between my
meeting them and their joining me. Regardless of their
Personality Color, they soon become overwhelmed by the
amount of information presented by my MLM company, my
Team, and my generic Team Building and Personal
Development Systems.

APPLIED KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.

The least stressful process I’ve experienced for both
me, as Sponsor, and my new partner went something like
this:

1. They went through the MFF Recipe at their own pace,
when THEY were ready.

2. They began participating in the Mental Cleanse, and
began growing as a Person.

3. They began sampling my products as a customer,
quickly developing a Belief in the products and began
recommending them to others.

4. They joined MFF Pro, and began developing the skills
of attracting new clients, building relationships, and
achieving a Servant’s Mind-set.

5. They joined my Team as a stronger person, with a
belief in the products, a few customers, a few
potential future partners, and a clear understanding of
the Recipe System.

CULTURE OF SERVICE

Performing SERVICE for others is the root of all
commerce and economy – locally, regionally and
globally. It is what gives currency its VALUE. Doing
things for others they would rather not do for
themselves.

Here is what is interesting: Most folks with an
EMPLOYEE MENTALITY believe they are owed a check just
for showing up.

If I were Your boss, I would first ask, “What SERVICE
did You give this week?”

If You replied, “I brought You Your coffee all week,”
my answer would be, “That is a common courtesy. I would
not expect You to pay me for brining YOU coffee.”

Now, if You replied, “I kept the floors and aisles
clean all week,” my answer would be, “Well done, good
Servant! You provided an attractive and safe
environment for our customers. You have indeed earned a
claim against the services of Your fellow men and
women. There is dignity in ALL Service. ”

LEADERS VS. MANAGERS

One of the things that really frosts my drawers: When a
Leader builds a team under someone, or an employer
hires someone to supervise a team – and the supervisor
tells the leader, “These are MY people now. Leave them
alone!”

A Manager says, “Do this and don’t do that!”

A LEADER says, “Watch what I do – and if it works, then
I will help You do it too.”

A Manger dreams up schemes and throws other folks into
the fray like cannon fodder.

A LEADER FOLLOWS a proven, blazed trail and leaves
breadcrumbs along the way for others to Follow.

The Nature of Imagination

1. If it can be IMAGINED, then it can be MANIFESTED.

2. If it cannot be Manifested, then it cannot be
Imagined.

My theory, anyway.

The Secret of the 30-Day Cleanse Revealed (If this
might scare You, then please stop reading.)

The primary responsibility, and most difficult task, of
an MLM Sponsor is guiding a new distributor’s mind-set
away from EMPLOYEE MENTALITY and into ENTREPRENEUR
MENTALITY. This is the chief aim of Personal
Development.

Now, I’ve been around the industry awhile – and just
like the inadequate team building guidance – my
personal development training consisted of being handed
a copy of Think and Grow Rich and being told to read
it. Every sponsor and up-line in every company I was
ever with did this exact thing with me.

Several years ago, Michael Dlouhy IMAGINED a System
anyone in MLM could duplicate to build a lasting team.
Of course, a key component had to be Personal
Development – and of course, it needed to involve Think
and Grow Rich, the granddaddy of all such books.

In the Publisher’s Preface, we are admonished to read
the book more than once… and to form a STUDY GROUP, a
MASTERMIND ALLIANCE!

To quote myself, the Subconscious Mind is the HUMAN
OPERATING SYSTEM. Unlike software, which can be deleted
and replaced, the Operating System is hard-wired.

Replacing the Employee (Slave) Operating System with
the Entrepreneur (Owner) System requires a complete
CLEANSING of the old System. Thus the 30-DAY MENTAL
CLEANSE.

Every instruction for the Cleanse is carefully designed
to flush out old thought habits and replace them with
new, Mind-Owning Habits. (When You OWN Your Mind, You
OWN YOUR LIFE!)

Every PARTICIPANT needs to submit a Lesson Learned in
writing every week on the chapter we are studying.
Michael must read every one and select several for
discussion on the weekly conference calls.

For six long years, Michael had to select only a few
lessons, format them for his auto-responder, and send
them out to the list by Wednesday morning every week.
This task consumed countless hours, caused undue stress
on Michael’s family relations, and no one benefitted
from reading ALL the lessons besides Michael.

Michael IMAGINED a way to reach more folks, share his
advantage of having all the lessons to read, and
streamline the process.

Sharing his VISION, I thought a public forum website
would fit the bill. But the software needed to give us
ample control to protect Participants and discourage
them from doing things that would lose their focus –
like playing catch-up by posting lessons on old
chapters, jumping ahead, conducting ongoing
argumentative discussions publicly and privately.

When I discovered and examined Simple Machines Forum
software, I knew we would MANIFEST the VISION into
REALITY.
